Thousands are expected in Downtown on Saturday, March 24, to take part in March for Our Lives, one of hundreds happening around the country to protest gun violence in the wake of the school shooting in Parkland, Fla. last month.

The Atlanta march is being planned by students, gun violence survivors and organizations Everytown for Gun Safety and the Georgia Alliance for Social Justice to call on lawmakers to pass  gun safety legislation.

The march will begin at 11 a.m. the the Center for Civil and Human Rights, 100 Ivan Allen Jr Boulevard, and end at Liberty Plaza at the Georgia State Capitol Building. Participants will march south on Centennial Olympic Park Drive, then east on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive before arriving at the capitol.
