J5 in Midtown

Brightstar has announced that J5, a luxury condominium community, is slated to open spring of 2019 in Midtown. Minerva Homes has begun work on transforming the former Druid Hills United Methodist Church campus into a condo and townhome development called 1200 Ponce. The former sanctuary and school building will be repurposed and complemented by new construction, which will feature flats and townhomes priced from $500,000 to more than $1 million, according to Curbed Atlanta.

Emerson on Krog

Thrive Homes has announced it will build a new townhome development, Emerson on Krog, near the corner of Edgewood Avenue and Krog Street. The first phase of the community will have 16 townhomes priced from $1 million. According to Curbed Atlanta, the site of the development is the former Jenkins Metal and Supply Company, located just south of Krog Street Market and just steps from the Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail.

Atlanta-based apartment investment and development firm Cortland has announced the appointment of Bruce Cohen as senior managing partner of Investments and Strategic Initiatives. Cohen, a Cortland board member for the last four years and an advisor for the past six months, will report directly to Cortland CEO Steven DeFrancis.
GPG Properties, the recently launched investment arm of the Glick Family Porfolio, has closed on Core at Lindbergh Station, a 358-unit contemporary apartment complex on Morosgo Drive in buckhead. The seller was AVR Realty Co. and the purchase price was $84 million. “Core at Lindbergh Station is the last of the three apartment communities we had planned to purchase outside of New York City this year,” says Jason Glick, Managing Partner, GPG Properties. “Our goal was to diversify and build the Glick family portfolio with large multi-family assets in high-growth areas.”
