You’re about to see a whole lot more scooters on Intown’s streets and sidewalks. Uber launched its JUMP e-scooter service today, joining Bird and Lime in the ever-expanding push to provide “last-mile” connectivity in the city.

If you already have the Uber app on your phone, you can rent one of the scooters there for just $1 to unlock and $0.10 per minute after that. Like the other dockless scooters, expect to see them parked just about everywhere.

To use a JUMP scooter, you can reserve via the Uber app or by walking up to an available scooter and scanning the QR code to unlock it. When using the app, tap the mode switch at the top of your home screen, and select Scooter.  Atlantans will also have the option to unlock a Lime scooter in the Uber app.

The proliferation of scooters in Atlanta has been a cause for both delight and dismay. On one hand, the scooters have caught on with the public and are in frequent use. But, some residents have complained that there are simply too many scooters and they are often left blocking sidewalks by riders. The Atlanta City Council is considering regulating the scooter industry.
