Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has announced her appointments to the administration’s Task Force for the Promotion of Public Trust. The Task Force is entrusted to evaluate the city’s legislative and administrative policies and procedures with regard to ethics, transparency and compliance. Bottoms’ appointments include Retired Justice Leah Ward Sears as chair, former prosecutor Joe D. Whitley, former local government attorney O.V. Brantley, academic Dr. Robert M. Franklin Jr., attorney Lawton Jordan, and former state representative Joe Wilkinson.
Vision Hospitality Group, Inc. has opened the six-story Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Atlanta Decatur/Emory at 116 Clairemont Ave. in Downtown Decatur.  The 145-room hotel caters to travelers with amenities such as an indoor saltwater swimming pool, meeting space, a 24-hour business center and a fitness center.
Miller Union has been named a 2019 James Beard Award finalist for “Outstanding Wine Program,” which recognizes restaurants that serve as a standard bearer for excellence in wine service. The restaurant’s wine program was previously named a semifinalist in this category in 2015, 2016 and 2018, and named a finalist in 2016. Winners will be announced May 6 at a ceremony in Chicago.
