Atlanta Police have released video of one of three suspects being sought in the armed robbery of a husband and wife on Sept. 6 as they walked along Woodward Avenue in Grant Park.
The video clip shows one of the suspects using the woman’s stolen credit card at a convenience store on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard shortly after the robbery occurred.
According to the police report, the couple were walking home on Woodward Avenue around midnight when a silver car approached them with three occupants inside. A man wearing dark clothing and a camouflage mask jumped out of the backseat brandishing a gun and demanding the woman’s bag.
When the woman refused to turn over the bag, the suspect fired a warning shot into the ground. Afterwards, she gave him the bag, which contained her cell phone, wallet and a laptop, and the suspect got back inside the car.
A security guard working nearby came to investigate the sound of gunfire and saw the silver vehicle speeding westbound on Woodward before turning left onto Cherokee Avenue.
Anyone with information about the suspects are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-8477 or text 274637. Information leading to an arrest could mean a $2,000 reward.
