The following crime information is provided via the Sandy Springs Week in Review Report for the week ending Sept. 20.
North District Crime
The unit reported five burglaries. Four occurred in apartment units and one in a single-family home.
The unit reported five entering-autos incidents. Locations of these incidents include a hotel, fitness center, self-service car wash and an apartment complex.
South District Crime
The unit reported 13 entering-autos incidents. Incidents occurred at both residential and commercial properties. Approximately half of the vehicles were unlocked.
Two burglaries were reported, both on commercial properties.
Street Crimes Unit
The unit reported two felony arrests, conducted four traffic stops, and issued three traffic citations. The unit investigated four suspicious persons, conducted two vehicle searches, and issued 15 arrest warrants.
A tracking device was deployed on an entering-auto suspect vehicle. The next day, the suspect vehicle was tracked coming into Sandy Springs and another crime committed. Two suspects fled from officers, but later located. Both subjects charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors.
The unit reported five misdemeanor arrests, conducted 114 traffic stops, and issued 175 citations. The unit cleared eight cases.
Hit and Run: 2
The Unit reported one felony arrest, two misdemeanor arrests and two city arrests. The unit conducted 33 traffic stops, issued 36 traffic citations, and located two wanted persons. The unit investigated two suspicious persons, conducted three K-9 searches, and worked one drug complaint.
The unit assisted in capturing suspects in connection with a landscape equipment theft. Two subjects fled on foot. The K-9 tracked one, locating him hiding in a trash can. The second suspect was found hiding in a portable toilet. Both were taken into custody.
