You can now renew your vehicle tag at a kiosk inside the new Kroger supermarket at 725 Ponce. Drivers can scan their license, vehicle registration renewal notice or enter their tag number at the kiosks to begin processing their vehicle registration renewals.  Customers can access the kiosks at any point during open store hours seven days a week. The kiosk has a $3 transaction fee and a State of Georgia negotiated credit fee equaling two percent of the total transaction amount. Kiosks are also located at Kroger supermarkets on Piedmont Road and Glenwood Park.
The Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID) and Dashboard will host PRISM: Winter Lights at Woodruff Park, a 3-month installation displaying vibrant, light-based sculptures by artists from around the country, opening on Dec. 7.  The public is invited to attend the opening event on Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m., which will feature music by Ree De La Vega, plus food and beverages available for purchase. The Fox Theatre Institute (FTI) has announced that 13 venues in Georgia have been selected as 2020 grant recipients, including funds for historic preservation, urgent/emergency funding, historic structures and planning grants. The Grove Park Community Foundation will receive $50,000 for space planning, architectural design work and pro forma development for the Grove Theatre in order to prepare for the funding and renovation that will create a community arts and education center. The Plaza Theatre will receive $32,580 to complete an overall preservation planning project, including the restoration of missing original marquee elements; replacing non-historic front doors; and renovations of the front lobby ceiling, backstage, concession stands and restrooms.
