As the number of coronavirus cases continues to grow around the globe, the Trump Administration has announced that all flights originating in China will now be routed through seven US airports which will have enhanced screening for the virus. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is one of those seven. Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines has also temporarily suspend all flights to and from China. Read more at The Washington Post.
Anne Cox Chambers – philanthropist, diplomat and former co-owner of Atlanta-based Cox Enterprises – died Jan. 31 at the age of 100. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Chambers’ life on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m. at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 634 W. Peachtree Street NW.
The Atlanta Police Department has made second arrest in the shooting and robbery incident that occurred Dec. 21 at Lenox Square in Buckhead. APD Fugitive Investigators arrested Antonio Brown, 17, for aggravated assault, armed robbery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was transported to Atlanta Police Headquarters without incident and will be booked into the Fulton County Jail. Brown’s arrest follows that of Devonte Dean, 24, who was arrested in December on similar charges. Both suspects are accused of shooting and robbing a female Macy’s employee in the parking deck on Dec. 21.
