The Atlanta History Center in Buckhead and its Margaret Mitchell House in Midtown are shutting down through at least March 31 due to concerns about the coronavirus.

The History Center, a significant museum and cultural center at 130 West Paces Ferry Road, previously had announced some event cancelations in response to the pandemic. All of its facilities will now close at 5 p.m. on March 13, and all public events will be postponed or canceled.

“The institution will reassess reopening all facilities at the beginning of April if judged to be responsible based on guidelines from public health officials,” according to a press release.

While the museum is shutting, the Souper Jenny restaurant and BRASH Coffee Roasters shop in the West Paces building remain open to the public, as of March 13. The businesses will receive “additional cleaning services,” according to the History Center, and both offer takeout services.
