Take the ride of your life on the largest operating historic railroad in the South – the Tennessee Valley Railroad! Located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum will take you on an exhilarating RIDE using its completely restored, authentic steam and diesel powered passenger trains.

The Missionary Ridge Local offers yoy the perfect “bite sized” tour and train ride. At 50 to 55 minutes, this includes a 6-mile round trip that packs a lot of history into a compact time frame.

Experience one of the original rail lines into Chattanooga. Along the way you get to witness two unique methods of turning a train around: the better known turntable, and the wye. One of the highlights of the trip is riding through the 1858-era Missionary Ridge Tunnel, a.k.a. the Chattanooga, Harrison, Georgetown, & Charleston Railroad Tunnel, especially noted for its uniqueness as a horseshoe shaped tunnel. You’ll also receive a guided tour of our East Chattanooga Back Shop after watching the turntable demonstration.

Enjoy a relaxing lunch in our Deli and find the perfect souvenir in our gift shop.

Summerville Steam and Chickamauga Turn trains travel into Northwest Georgia and offer a sit-down lunch in our fully restored 1920s dining car. For departure dates, times, and train features, please call 423.894.8028 or check www.tvrail.com.

Group Charters allow you to create your own ride. Full meals are available and will be customized to suit your needs.
